Dr. Taylor Cash is the Director of Bands at Albertville High School in Albertville, Alabama. At Albertville, Taylor conducts the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band I, Percussion Ensemble, Concert Band A, and directs the award winning Albertville "Aggie" Marching Band. The Aggie Band has marched in the 2018 and 2011 Rose Parade in Pasadena, CA, The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on four occasions, the Disney World Parade, the 2014 Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade, and the Magnificent Mile Parade in Chicago, IL. In addition to their performance in the Rose Parade, The Albertville Percussion Ensemble was invited to be the featured performance for the 2011 Tournament of Roses Presidential Gala. Under Taylor’s direction the High School Percussion Ensemble has grown from 8 members to 35 and was chosen to perform at the 2014 AMEA In-Service Conference. As Conductor of the Wind Ensemble and Concert Band A, his bands have received consistent ratings of Superior at the State Music Performance Assessment. In addition, the Wind Ensemble was selected to perform at the 2022 AMEA In-Service Conference. In 2014, Taylor was awarded the National Band Association Citation of Excellence and in 2016 awarded the Edward H. Cleino Outstanding Young Music Educator Award for the State of Alabama. Taylor has also served on the Executive Board for the Alabama Bandmasters Association as Chairman of District II. He has also been a clinician at the Alabama Music Educator's Conference.
Taylor received his Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Wind Conducting from the University of Alabama. He is also a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Jacksonville State University and Boston University with a BA in Music Education and a MM in Music Education respectively. Taylor has had experience conducting Wind Bands, Opera Theaters, and Percussion Ensembles and has been privileged to study conducting with Dr. Ken Ozzello and Dr. Ken Bodiford. While at JSU, Taylor served as Tenorline section leader, Drumline Captain of the Marching Southerners Percussion Section, Tenorline section leader for SPIRIT Drum and Bugle Corps, as well as serving as principal percussionist in Chambers Winds and Wind Ensemble. Taylor also served as principal percussionist with the Birmingham, AL based community band, Alabama Winds, performing at The Midwest Clinic in Chicago, IL in 2017. Taylor is an active percussion arranger, consultant, instructor, and judge throughout the Southeast. He has worked with numerous High Schools and Universities including: The University of Alabama, Auburn University, Miami University (OH), and Jacksonville State University. Taylor is a member of NEA, AEA, ABA, NBA, NAfME, ODK, KDE, and the Percussive Arts Society. Taylor is an Educator Artist for Innovative Percussion, REMO Drumheads, and Zildjian Cymbals. He lives in Albertville with his wife, Ansley, their sons, Fischer and Fletcher, and dog, Lucy. |
Mr. John Aaron Saxon has taught grades 6-12 instrumental music at both Springville Middle School and Springville High School for three years. He graduated high school in 2008, at which point he enlisted into the Army, becoming a member of the 313th United States Army Band, performing as a bugler all across the country and internationally performing in Alaska, to Hawaii, to Germany, as well as across the southeast United States. He currently holds the rank of Staff Sergeant and is the 313th Brass Quintet assistant team leader, the trumpet team leader, while also holding other various responsibilities.
In May of 2020, he graduated from the University of Montevallo with a bachelor's degree in Music Education, Magna Cum Laude. He was a member of the Jazz Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, and Trumpet Ensemble. He was under the tutelage of Dr. Joseph P. Ardovino while also receiving private instruction from Ryan Beach, Nicholas Ciulla and William Denton. Mr. Saxon is a member of the Alabama Bandmaster's Association, the National Band Association, Alabama Music Educator's Association, and the National Society of Leadership and Success. He currently resides in Steele, AL with his wife, Nicole, and three children, Hazel, Heath, and Harrison. |
Mr. Joshua Anderson previously served as the band director at Good Hope Middle School and High School, where he oversaw all aspects of the 6th-12th grade music curriculum, including 3 concert ensembles and the award winning Good Hope Raider Marching Band.
Mr. Anderson received his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Jacksonville State University, while he was an active member of the university's music program. During his time in college, he was drum major for the Marching Southerners and a member of the JSU Chamber Winds, Percussion Ensemble, JSU Civic Symphony, JSU Brass Choir, and a number of various smaller ensembles. He also gained valuable teaching experience by working with the Jacksonville High School and Saks High School bands as a student teacher. After completing his undergraduate degree, Mr. Anderson went on to earn his Master's degree in Music Education from Jacksonville State University, where he worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant under Dr. Kenneth G. Bodiford. Throughout his time as a graduate student, he gathered conducting experience with JSU Chamber Winds, Symphonic Band, Percussion Ensemble, and the Marching Southerners. Mr. Anderson is a member of the Alabama Bandmaster’s Association, Alabama Music Educator’s Association, the National Society for Leadership and Success, and the Percussive Arts Society. He currently lives in Warrior, AL with his wife, Chelsea. |
Mrs. Missy Lindley has served as a Band Director in the Alabama Public School System for 32 years. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of North Alabama. Mrs. Lindley is in her 22nd year as Director of Bands at Albertville Middle School and Associate Director at Albertville High School. She also serves as the advisor for the Albertville High School Southern Stars Danceline. Throughout her thirty-two years of teaching, Mrs. Lindley’s bands have received consistent superior ratings in marching, concert and jazz competitions at both the state and national levels. Most recently Mrs. Lindley’s band received the rating of Superior at the Alabama Bandmasters Association State Music Performance Assessment.
Mrs. Lindley plays professionally throughout the state and keeps an extensive studio of private flute students who consistently earn honor band invitations and All-State Band positions. Mrs. Lindley has been the Principle Flutist of the Shoals Symphony Orchestra and the Gadsden Symphony Orchestra. In 2012 Missy founded the flute ensemble “Las Flautas Primeros” comprised of Albertville High School and Middle School students. Mrs. Lindley is an active adjudicator and clinician for marching contests and honor bands throughout the Southeast. She is a past Chairman for District II of the Alabama Bandmasters Association. Mrs. Lindley is a member of Sigma Alpha Iota and Tau Beta Sigma Honorary music sororities. She is an alumna of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. She is also a member of MENC and the Alabama Bandmasters Association. Missy is married to Chris Lindley who is a former Director of Bands at Albertville High School. Missy and Chris are parents to twins Haley and Katelyn. |
Mr. Nathan Haskew is the associate band director at Albertville Middle School and High School. Prior to his current position Mr. Haskew served as the band director at Riverton Middle School in Huntsville, AL for two years, the band director at Southside High School / Rainbow Middle School in Gadsden, AL for six years, and Muscle Shoals Middle School and High School in Muscle Shoals, AL for six years. Mr. Haskew graduated from Ashville High School, Ashville, AL in 2001. He graduated from Jacksonville State University, Jacksonville, AL in 2005 with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Music Education and completed his Masters Degree from The American Band College of Sam Houston State University in the summer of 2011. His professional affiliations include the National Association for Music Educators, Alabama Bandmasters Association, National Band Association, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. Bands under the direction of Mr. Haskew have consistently earned superior ratings and numerous awards for their performances. Mr. Haskew continues to serve the Southeast region as an adjudicator, consultant, and clinician.
Mr. Haskew is married to Toni Morris Haskew of Hokes Bluff, AL. The couple have one son, Canon David, and one daughter, Bayla Rae. The family resides in Albertville, AL. |
