Upcoming 9th -12th Grade Band
Aggie Band,
Our hope is that this post will answer most of your questions concerning band during our school closure.
1. COMMUNICATION: Our main sources for communication during this closure will be the Band Facebook Group Page, the band website www.albertvilleband.com, and the band google classroom. All documents will be posted on the band website.
2. INSTRUMENT PICKUP: Friday, April 10 from 10am-2pm will be your last chance to secure your instrument/belongings from cubbies. All four directors will be on site to help facilitate this. One director will be in the parking lot to meet you when you pull up. PLEASE DO NOT GET OUT OF THE CAR. Your belongings will be brought out to you. This is for band related items only. Those wishing to audition for colorguard will need to secure a practice flag on Friday if you have not already done so. Everyone MUST have their instrument at home to practice during this extended closure.
3. LAST 9WKS GRADING: Your last 9 wks grade will be entered as the highest of the previous three 9 weeks. Example: If you had a 100, 88, 88 on the first three 9 weeks, your fourth 9 wks grade will be 100.
4. CLASS PLACEMENTS: Class placements for next year’s concert bands will be done by the directors later in April. You will be assigned to a concert band class and we will then hold chair auditions for those bands when we resume school in the fall.
5. JAZZ BAND: If you are interested in being in Jazz Band next year, email Chris Lindley at clindley@albertk12.org. Jazz Band will be filled from last year’s roster first, and then we will fill spots from requests. We will certainly need a new pianist and guitarist since they were recent seniors.
6. AUXILIARY AUDITIONS: Danceline and Drum Major auditions will be done digitally. Mrs. Cash will be posting information on Colorguard auditions later in May. All details on auditions will be posted on the band website at www.albertvilleband.com. Please check the site frequently for updates.
7. BANDCAMP SCHEDULE: The band camp schedule and other important fall information will be mailed to each band member during late April/early May. In addition, the schedule will be posted in the Facebook Group Page.
8. SENIORS: All senior awards have been ordered. However, the award company is shut down and they are not giving us a date that they plan to resume operations. We will get you the senior plaques as soon as they are delivered. Remember to send us a senior picture to aggiebandpics@gmail.com soon!
